(AP) Chicago - Freidas Boss fell to 0-2 Monday night after a disappointing 15-13 defeat to Indy Team #2.

Freida took advantage of several errors by the Indy firstbaseman in the first two innings to take an early 7-1 lead. With two outs in the bottom of the 2nd, substitute leftfielder Eugene made a spectacular throw to nail an Indyrunner trying to advance to thirdbase.

The turning point came in the bottom of the 3rd inning with 2 outs. With Freida leading 10-3 and an Indyman on first, SS Mike Matos made a nice play to scoop up a hard grounder up the middle. Unfortunately, secondbaseman C.W. dropped Matos' soft toss, and 7 Indymen proceeded to score in the inning, all unearned runs for Freida fireballer Mike Rothberg.

Indy pitcher Don Sutton shut down Freida's bats the rest of the way and Indy cruised to victory.

Team captain and thirdbaseman Byron Emerson continued his hot hitting, going 3 for 4, but expressed disappointment over the team's 0-2 start.

"If Gizzburg doesn't show up soon, it's gonna be a long season," Emerson said.

Freida's next matchup is Wed, June 22 at 7:30 vs. Indy Team #5.

Game Notes:

Freida felt the absence of slugging leftfielder, Pete Ryan, who was 3 for 3 in the first game with 2 HRs and a double. Ryan should return in time for next week's game.

Freida's 1 and 2 hitters, Rick Y. McGelboim and C.W., respectively, have reached base consistently this season. McGelboim's season OBP is 1.00 and C.W.'s is .800.

SS Matos was twice robbed of hits by Indy team's short left fielder.

McGelboim was thrown out on the bases for the second time this season. Centerfielder Erik Ray was also thrown out between 2nd and 3rd.

Pitcher Mike Rothberg made several nice plays in the field despite playing with a partially torn ACL.
